Il corso intende fornire agli studenti e alle studentesse le competenze comunicative che si riferiscono ad un livello B1+/B2 del “Quadro comune europeo di riferimento per le lingue”.
Le lezioni verranno articolate in maniera tale da proporre l’apprendimento della lingua come processo che coinvolge tutte le abilità, sia nella loro dimensione ricettiva (reading, listening) che produttiva (speaking, writing).
I contenuti del corso includeranno lo studio e l’utilizzo delle principali strutture grammaticali, verbali e lessicali della lingua inglese. Verranno svolte attività di lettura, traduzione, ascolto, e conversazione con riferimento a documenti e materiali didattici messi a disposizione dal docente. Tali risorse saranno selezionate con l'obiettivo di affrontare temi generali e coerenti con il Corso di Studio, garantendo così un percorso formativo in linea con gli obiettivi curriculari e le competenze attese.

Lo studente sarà in grado di elaborare una descrizione semplice di uno o più argomenti che rientrano nel suo campo d’interesse. Lo studente, inoltre, acquisirà padronanza di una serie di termini tecnici collegati ai contenuti degli insegnamenti previsti dal Corso di Studio, sviluppando progressivamente la capacità di comprenderne il significato, utilizzarli in modo appropriato e riconoscerli all’interno di diversi contesti disciplinari.

È richiesta la conoscenza della lingua inglese ad un livello minimo A2 del quadro comune europeo di riferimento per le lingue.

L’insegnamento si svolgerà in modalità telematica e sarà articolato su lezioni interattive, orientate all’acquisizione di strutture linguistiche e lessico inerente ai contenuti scelti, attraverso i canali della lettura/traduzione/ascolto/discussione. Mediante supporti digitali, si provvederà a fornire un'adeguata riflessione sull’uso della lingua inglese e sulla terminologia tecnica coerente con gli obbiettivi formativi del Corso di Studio, con attività di conversazione volte a consolidare le competenze comunicative.

La verifica dell’apprendimento verterà preliminarmente su attività di conversazione generale sui seguenti argomenti: la vita quotidiana; gli hobby; le esperienze passate, quali viaggi, istruzione, ecc.; le attività di svago e intrattenimento; il proprio ambiente vitale come la città, la casa, la famiglia, gli amici; programmi e progetti futuri.
La verifica dell’apprendimento, inoltre, prevederà test con domande legate agli argomenti trattati durante le lezioni. Ogni test sarà composto da 10 domande a risposta multipla e si considererà superato con almeno il 70% di risposte corrette.

Il docente provvederà a fornire agli studenti il materiale didattico utilizzato durante le lezioni e ulteriori materiali di supporto utili a facilitare lo studio individuale.

I contenuti del corso includeranno lo studio e l’utilizzo delle principali strutture grammaticali, verbali e lessicali della lingua inglese: il tempo presente e le attività svolte nel quotidiano; il tempo presente progressivo; le preposizioni di luogo; il tempo passato, con particolare attenzione ai verbi regolari e irregolari; il lessico relativo ai luoghi della città; i comparativi e superlativi; e le principali forme del futuro.
Le attività di lettura, traduzione, ascolto, conversazione saranno basate su documenti e materiali messi a disposizione dal docente. Tali risorse saranno accuratamente selezionate al fine di favorire lo sviluppo delle competenze linguistiche con riferimento a temi generali coerenti con gli ambiti disciplinari del Corso di Studio. In particolare, verranno affrontate tematiche legate al mondo universitario e ai relativi percorsi formativi, al comfort termoigrometrico e al funzionamento degli impianti di climatizzazione, alla realtà virtuale per la simulazione spaziale e la progettazione nel mondo reale, alla riqualificazione energetica dei beni architettonici, all'energia solare e ai sistemi di accumulo di energia termica, al tema della sostenibilità e delle sue molteplici sfaccettature nel settore dell'edilizia, alle Comunità Energetiche Rinnovabili, al diritto amministrativo nel campo dell'edilizia.

The course aims to provide students with communicative skills which refer to B1+/B2 level of Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Process of language learning will include both receptive (reading, listening) and productive skills (speaking, writing).
The course contents will include the study and use of the main grammatical, verbal, and lexical structures of the English language. The reading, listening, and speaking activities will be based on documents and materials provided by the professor. These resources will be selected with the aim of addressing general topics consistent with the Bachelor’s Degree Course, thereby ensuring a learning path aligned with the curricular objectives and the expected competencies at the end of the course.

The student will be able to sustain a straightforward description of one of a variety of subjects within their field of interest. The student will acquire familiarity with a range of technical terms closely related to the content of the courses included in the Bachelor’s Degree Course, developing the ability to understand their meaning, use them appropriately, and recognize them within different disciplinary contexts.

Knowledge of English language at A2 level (CEFR) is required.

Online lectures will be given with the aim to allow students to acquire linguistic structures as well as specific vocabulary, pertinent to the selected topics, through reading, translation, listening and speaking activities. Digital tools and materials will be used in order to provide students with an appropriate reflection on the use of the English language and on technical terminology consistent with the learning objectives of the Bachelor’s Degree Course. Speaking activities will be included regularly to strengthen communicative competences.

First of all the student's evaluation will focus on a conversation about the following topics: hobbies and everyday life; past experiences (journeys, education, etc.); leisure activities; the world around students (their city, house, family, friends); future plans.
The evaluation of students will also include a test containing questions related to the topics covered during the lectures. Each test will consist of 10 multiple-choice questions and will be considered as successfully completed if at least 70% of the answers are correct.

Extra materials and worksheets will be provided during the course, to enhance individual learning.

The course contents will include the study and use of the main grammatical, verbal, and lexical structures of the English language, with particular reference to the following areas: Simple Present and routine activities; Present Continuous; prepositions of place; Simple Past, with particular attention to regular and irregular verbs; vocabulary related to places in town; comparatives and superlatives; and future forms (will and going to).
Reading, translation, listening, and speaking activities will be based on documents and materials provided by the professor. These resources will be carefully selected in order to promote the development of language with reference to a range of general topics consistent with the disciplinary areas of the Bachelor’s Degree Course. In particular, the course will include topics related to the academic world and its educational programs, thermal and hygrometric comfort and the operation of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems, virtual reality for spatial simulation and real-world design, energy retrofitting of architectural heritage, solar energy and thermal energy storage systems, sustainability and its many facets in the building sector, Renewable Energy Communities, administrative law in the field of buildings.
