Il corso intende fornire agli studenti e alle studentesse le competenze comunicative che si riferiscono ad un livello B1+/B2 del “Quadro comune europeo di riferimento per le lingue”. La declinazione delle strutture linguistiche, ma soprattutto del lessico, verso la dimensione artistica, propria del percorso di studi, tende a mettere in grado il discente di esprimersi con confidenza in quei contesti comunicativi propri del suo spazio vitale ed esperienziale.
Si darà spazio all’apprendimento della lingua come processo che coinvolge tutte le abilità sia nella loro dimensione ricettiva (reading, listening) che produttiva (speaking, writing).
Tuttavia, nell’ottica di potenziare le abilità orali della conversazione e della presentazione di contenuti – indispensabili per il superamento della prova di verifica finale – ogni lezione inizierà con attività di speaking in cui gli studenti sono chiamati a verificare e autovalutare quanto appreso durante la lezione precedente.

B2: È in grado di produrre descrizioni ed esposizioni chiare e ben strutturate, mettendo opportunamente in evidenza gli aspetti significativi e sostenendoli con particolari pertinenti.
È in grado di produrre descrizioni ed esposizioni chiare e precise di svariati argomenti che rientrano nel suo campo d’interesse, sviluppando e sostenendo le idee con elementi supplementari ed esempi pertinenti.
B1+: È in grado di produrre, in modo ragionevolmente scorrevole, una descrizione semplice di uno o più argomenti che rientrano nel suo campo d’interesse, strutturandola in una sequenza lineare di punti.

Livello B1 del Quadro comune europeo di riferimento per le lingue

Il corso si terrà in modalità online e sarà basato su lezioni interattive, orientate all’acquisizione di strutture linguistiche e lessico inerente ai contenuti scelti, attraverso i canali della lettura/ascolto. Mediante supporti digitali si provvederà a fornire adeguata riflessione sull’uso della lingua inglese, sempre accompagnata da attività di conversazione.

Prima parte – Attività di conversazione generale su argomenti riguardanti:
- la vita quotidiana;
- gli hobby;
- le esperienze passate quali viaggi, istruzione, etc.
- le attività di svago e intrattenimento
- il proprio ambiente vitale come la città, la casa, la famiglia
- programmi e progetti futuri.

Seconda parte:
Presentazione orale, anche mediante supporto multimediale, di un’opera artistica (architettonica, pittorica, etc.).

N. B. L’esame finale è interamente svolto in lingua inglese e sarà svolto in presenza.

The course aims to provide students with communicative skills which refer to B1+/B2 level of Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Linguistic structures and vocabulary, in particular, will be oriented towards the world of art and design, which is peculiar to the students’ field of interest, and which will make them confident in communicating in English within their own vital and work contexts.
Although the process of language learning will include both receptive and productive skills, much attention will be devoted to oral interaction and oral presentation of contents, which are essential to the final exam. In each lesson, therefore, students will be asked to interact with the teacher orally in order to revise and practice what they have learned in the previous lesson.

With particular reference to speaking activities, at the end of the course students are expected to be able to:

B2: give clear, systematically developed descriptions and presentations, with appropriate highlighting of significant points, and relevant supporting detail.
Can give clear, detailed descriptions and presentations on a wide range of subjects related to their field of interest, expanding and supporting ideas with subsidiary points and relevant examples.
B1+:
reasonably fluently sustain a straightforward description of one of a variety of subjects within their field of interest, presenting it as a linear sequence of points.

B1 level of Common European Framework of Reference.

Online lectures will be given with the aim to allow students to acquire linguistic structures as well as specific vocabulary, pertinent to the selected topics, through reading and listening activities. Digital tools and materials will be used in order to provide students with an appropriate linguistic reflection and explanation. Speaking activities will be included regularly.

Part 1:
a conversation about the following topics:
- hobbies and everyday life;
- past experiences (journeys, education, etc.)
- leisure activities
- the world around me (my house, my family, my friends, my job/school)
- future plans.

Part 2:
Oral presentation, also supported by digital tools, of an artwork (paintings, sculptures, buildings, etc.)

The exam will be in person and in English.
